French star, Christopher Nkunku has admitted he is opened to a summer move away from RB Leipzig this summer as he continues to be linked with European giants.

The former PSG teenager enjoyed a stellar individual campaign with the German side, contributing to 55 goals in 51 appearances, which included a Champions League hat-trick against Manchester City at the Ethiad and one in the final of the DFB-Pokal against Freiburg.

His seven goals in the Champions League this season is only bettered by four players, despite Leipzig’s early elimination from the group stages and in a tough group of PSG and Manchester City.

He scored four times in the Europa League where made six appearances, helping Leipzig to the semi finals where they narrowly lost out to Rangers and was named in the team of the season by UEFA’s Technical Observer panel.

With 20 goals and 15 assists in the the Bundesliga this season, Nkunku was voted the league’s Player of the season by his colleagues in the professional footballer’s union in Germany – VDV. He won 49 percent of the votes ahead of Robert Lewandowski and Florian Wirtz, who came second and third respectively.

Also, in the DFB-Pokal, he scored four goals and registered two assists to deliver Leipzig a first silverware in their history in top-flight.

It is no surprise that elite teams in Europe are courting the 24-year-old this summer after what was an incredible performance during the season, and the player has now admitted his temptation to leave the German club this summer.

Speaking ahead of France’s Nations League game with Denmark, Nkunku said: “I’ve always said it, Paris my home, my heart club. I don’t close any doors. Everything is possible in football.”

Manchester United have been strongly linked with a move for the player as new manager, Erik Ten Hag looks to build a new system at the club with a host of players leaving this summer.

It is reported that Nkunku will cost a fee in the region of £60 million for Leipzig to be willing to negotiate any transfer regarding the player whom they consider a crucial part of their set up.

“It’s flattering to have the biggest clubs in the world interested in me. But it’s also flattering that Leipzig is doing everything to keep me. We are in June, and I am focused on this gathering.” He continued.

Chelsea and Real Madrid are also reported to be interested in the attacker but Manchester United’s interest is more concrete at the moment.

PSG at the moment have no reported interest in luring the player, who left the club for €13 million transfer fee plus bonuses in 2019.
