Chelsea Football Club are set to appoint Thomas Tuchel as the club’s new manager after the sacking of Frank Lampard, earlier today in the aftermath of the recent poor performances.
Thomas Tuchel will arrive in London just few weeks after being dismissed by PSG – Paris Saint German after the club could no longer endure their slow start to the league season under the German.
Tuchel, 47, has oversaw 451 games, winning 255 and losing 106 while managing Borrusia Dortmund and Mainz in the BundesLiga, and PSG- Paris Saint German, recently in the French top-flight.
The German has won seven trophies as a manager, with six coming in his time in France with PSG, while his other title was the DFB-Pokal won with Borussia Dortmund in the 2016-17 season. He took PSG to their first UEFA Champions League final last season, but was unfortunate to be on the losing end in Lisbon to Bayern Munich.
Tuchel is one of the best tactician in football right now, a fact which earned him the PSG job over two years ago. Moreso, there might be no better option perfect for the Chelsea manager role than Tuchel as he could help bring out the best in underperforming players.
Tuchel is a more experienced manager than Frank Lampard but the Premier League will be a completely different challenge for him. He managed the best club while in France and the second best club in Germany. Currently in the Premier League, Chelsea can not boast to be one of the best three teams in the league.
However, Tuchel will be expected to reinstate Chelsea back among the midst and bring success in his early days as it is the tradition at Chelsea. It is going to be a tough job but Chelsea have the players to help the German reach the goals if he can get the best out of them.
The German has worked with Christian Pulisic in Dortmund and is well familiar with the Germany duo of Kai Havertz and Timo Werner. He also worked with Thiago Silva at PSG. Even the player will be excited of the prospect of working under the former Borussia Dortmund manager.
With the official announcement imminent, the atmosphere at Stamford Bridge is very positive and this is a good omen for the club, players and the incoming manager.
