Arsenal’s players and staff have been rewarded for what has been a remarkable season so far in the London Football Awards, as the prizes were awarded to standout individuals, in the 2023 edition of the award.
The award is only out for individuals who represent London clubs, hence the name London Football Awards.
Manager of the Year
Mikel Arteta of Arsenal claimed the prize having turned things around to the better for the club, and are now top of the table, hoping to land their first league title since 2004.
The Spaniard has without a doubt been the best manager in London despite finishing fifth last season, behind Chelsea and Tottenham.
This season, his side have been better and to crown his role in the remarkable turnaround at the Emirates, he gets the award.
Player of the Year
Martin Ødegaard, the Arsenal captain has been immense for the club and has been a major part of the success of the process at the club.
Also one of the frontrunners for the PFA Player of the season already and should he led Arsenal to the league title, it will be very close if he is not named the winner of the prestigious award.
However, it is no doubt that he is the best player in the whole of London having been crowned with the award on Monday night, in the Roundhouse in Camden, London.
Young Player of the year
Bukayo Saka and was never in doubt. He is having a remarkable season and even did with England in the FIFA World Cup last year.
One of the best players in the Premier League this season. Saka is the main star of the Arsenal side that has defy the odds this and are now pushing for the league title.
This is only a start of more great things to come for the talented winger.
Goalkeeper of the year
Aaron Ramsdale picked up the best Goalkeeper award after a standout year between the sticks for Arsenal, in which no other London based goalkeeper kept more clean sheets than him.
Joint top clean sheets so far this term in the league, Ramsdale will also have his sight set on the golden glove as Arsenal push to dethrone Manchester City of the league title.
Others
Heung-Min Son claimed the award for the best goal with the second of his hat-trick in a 6-2 Tottenham win over Leicester City back in September.
Sam Kerr and Lauren James, both of Chelsea won the Women’s Player and Young Player of the year awards respectively.
Arsenal Women defender and Lioness captain, Leah Williamson was also around to pick the Power House of Football Award on behalf of the Lioness team for winning the Women’s European Championship last summer.
Former West Ham United captain, Mark Noble, now retired was named winner of the Outstanding Contribution to London Football award, for his services to the London football legacy.
