Wolverhampton Wonderers are set to lose their captain Ruben Neves this summer and Barcelona have had a bid of €30 million accepted ahead of a move for the Portuguese midfielder.
26-year old Neves has made his decision to leave the Premier League club this summer after six years of signing for the club from his boyhood club, FC Porto.
The Midfielder was seen bidding farewell to the fans in the Molineux at full-time in Wolves final home game of the Premier League season, a 1-1 draw against Everton.
Neves joined Wolves at a time they were in the Championship for an undisclosed fee believed to be around £16 million and has gone on to become one of their best players in recent times, helping them to the EFL Championship title in his debut season.
The former Porto teenager was also voted the club’s best player that season and having been a faithful servant all those years, the club has respected his decision to move away from the Molineux.
LaLiga Champions, Barcelona are hopeful of completing the deal in the coming days and what a move it would be for the Neves, who will be in line to replace the departing Sergio Busquets.
This deal will not be too difficult a task for Barcelona given their good relationship with Wolves, whom they’ve exchanged multiple players in recent times.
Nelson Semedo, Francisco Trincao and Adama Traore have moved from either side to another and Neves is close to joining that list.
