Barcelona will face Real Madrid in the final of the Spanish Super Cup in a rematch of the 2023 final after seeing off Osasuna in Riaydh.
Barcelona reaches back-to-back Spanish Super Cup final thanks to second half goals from Robert Lewandowski and Lamine Yamal to see off Osasuna in their semi final and set up a Clasico final as Real Madrid awaits on Sunday.
Xavi’s men headed into the fixture having won each of thier previous four meetings against Osasuna, who earned the chance to play in the tournament following their journey to the Copa del Rey final last season.
Just as they surrendered to Real Madrid then, they again came second best to Barcelona after 90 minutes in Riyadh, as Lewandowski and Yamal sent the Blaugrana into the final.
After a first-half which produced no real cutting-edge, Barcelona took the lead one minute before the hour-mark as Ilkay Gundogan teed up a frustrated Robert Lewandowski to finally make a goal in his last five starts.
Lamine Yamal, setup by Joao Felix ensured safety of the result with a goal in the third minute of added time as the LaLiga winners punished their opponent on the counter, after Osasuna had committed bodies forward in search of a late equalizer.
Barcelona reaches back-to-back finals and will face Real Madrid, whom they defeated 3-1 in the previous final, in Riyadh on Sunday evening.
The meeting will be a second Clasico of the campaign and Barcelona will hope to better the outcome of last time, when they surrendered a one-goal lead to fall to a Jude Bellingham brace in Camp Nou.
Real Madrid has won the title 12 times but Barcelona has won two more. An interesting finale awaits on Sunday.
