Christian Nørgaard has been announced as a new addition to the midfield by Arsenal, as the Danish international arrived to add depth to the squad following the departures of Thomas Partey and Jorginho in the summer.
The 31-year-old signs a two-year deal plus the option of one more in a deal worth £10 million plus an addition £2 million in add-ons from fellow Londoners, Brentford.
“I get to hear the anthem and be a part of a Champions League campaign. It’s a childhood dream… something I didn’t think would be possible. So it’s something I’m really, really happy about”. Said Nørgaard at his unveiling.
Nørgaard was part of the Brentford team that sealed qualification to the Premier League in 2020-21 season, and scored in their first topflight game since 1947, when they defeated Arsenal 2-0 in Middlesex in August 2021.
He made a total of 196 games for the club, scoring 13 goals, six of which came last season. He also added 17 assists, and is an established player for the Denmark national team, with 35 caps since his debut in August 2018.
