Arsenal get their season off to a perfect start with a 3-0 victory over newly promoted Fulham in the opening fixture of the new season at Craven Cottage.
Summer arrivals Willian and Gabriel Magalhães were given a start on their Arsenal debut and both players proved decisive with William providing two assists and having a big impact in the first goal and Magalhães scoring Arsenal’s second of the game.
The Gunners dominated from kick off and were rewarded in the eighth minute when Alexander Lacazette slammed home from close range against the run of okay.
They continued to press for the reminder of the first half but were unable to double their lead until the second half when debutants Willian and Gabriel Magalhães combined with the later getting on the end of a corner to double Arsenal’s lead in the 49th minute.
Pierre Emrick Aubameyang got his deserved goal in the 57th minute after a beautiful team move ended with Willian sending a cross-field pass to the Gabon international who take few steps forward before bending his effort into the far corner.
Fulham never look like getting anything from the match as Arsenal ease to a 3-0 win to kickstart Mikel Arteta’s first full season as a manager in a winner style.
