Dortmund dazzle, Wolfsburg win and Frankfurt fumble in BundesLiga return

Germany attacker Julian Brandt inspired Dortmund to a 4-0 victory over Schalke on their BundesLiga return.

Portuguese left-back Raphael Guerrero’s brace, Haaland and Hazard goals completed the dismantling of Schalke at the Signa Iduna park.

Braut Erlin Haaland scored the first goal of the BundesLiga game week 26 as he gave Dortmund the lead in the 29th minutes, connecting with Thorgan Hazard Low cross from the right flank.

Julian Julian Brandt assisted Raphael Guerrero to double their lead just before half time and Hazard gets on the score sheet early in the second half with Julian Brandt second assist of the game.

Guerrero completed his brace in the 63rd minute after a one-two passes exchange with Haaland.

It was a dream start to action for Dortmund who are missing two of their best players, Jadon Sancho and Marco Reus.

Yussuf Poulsen strikes in the 77th minutes to cancel out Manuel Gulde’s first half goal as Leipzig laboured to a to a one all draw at the Red Bull Arena.

It was an entertaining round of fixtures who produces 16 goals in six matches, which is not at all bad given the influence of the long term break.

However, players find it difficulty coping with social distancing rule during matches which is evident when marking free-kicks and other set paces.

Dortmund closes in within a point on leaders, Bayern Munich while they also move further away from Leipzig who dropped to fourth after Gladbach’s win over Frankfurt.

Bayern travel to Union Berlin tomorrow after Koln host Mainz. Werder Bremen host Bayer Leverkusen in the last match of the round on Monday.
