FIFA Club World Cup 2025 in Statistics
The inaugural 32-team FIFA Club World Cup tournament has come to a close as Chelsea reign supreme following a shocking 3-0 win over PSG Paris Saint-Germain in Sunday’s final.
First of its kind, and not expected to be perfect, but the tournament had plenty of down sides, from the inability to fill stadiums to the impressive numbers, here is the FIFA Club World Cup in statistics.

Tournament Size & Scale
32 teams took part in the the FIFA Club World Cup 2025. A new record as this is the first edition of the extended format.
63 matches were played between the Inter Miami vs. Al Ahly opener and the final match contested between Chelsea and PSG, with an average of 39,557 fans per match — totaling 2,492,062 spectators.

Over $1 billion in prize money was shared amon the entrants: $525 million shared based on participation and commercial metrics, $475 million on performance.
Chelsea, winners of the tournament, earned up to $125 million after their win over PSG on Sunday. In addition, FIFA also committed $250 million in solidarity payouts to clubs worldwide.
Match Statistics
Of the 63 games played in the tournament, 15 came post group stages, of which three went into extra time. Fortunately for the players, none of those needed a penalty shootout.
A total 674 players featured at least once during the course of the tournament, while 200 players were included in their respective teams’ squad but failed to make a single appearance.
264 minutes and 43 seconds was the total amount of added time at the end of first halves, an average of four minutes and a few seconds per game, while the second halves, as expected, witnessed a total and average of 377 minutes, 59 seconds and six minutes respectively.

Goal and Assists Statistics
195 goals were scored with European teams leading the way. Chelsea scored at least one more than anyone, while the likes of PSG, Bayern Munich and Manchester City are all tied in second place with 16.
Real Madrid, Juventus, and Benfica, all reached double figures, while Flamengo, Fluminense and Al Hilal lead the way for other continents with eight each.
Out of the total, nine went down as own goals, each half produced 94 goals while seven others were scored in extra time, out of which English clubs were responsible for four. Saudi Arabia, two, and Brazil complete the list.

130 different players scored at least one goal. Gonzalo Garcia, Serhou Guirassy, Angel Di Maria and Marcos Leonardo finished as joint top scorers with four each.
135 of the goals were directly assisted as a result of team play. And although PSG duo of Achraf Hakimi and Bradley Barcola lead the way for big chances created with five each, Chelsea’s Enzo Fernandez had three assists, the most of the tournament.
113 different players registered assists, and 17 others, including Michael Olise, Achraf Hakimi, Ardar Guler and Bradley Barcola, joined Fernandez as players with multiple assists.
100 right footed goals, 63 left footed goals and 30 headers. One of the other two was with the back of hand while the remainder was scored with a hand. Both goals were scored by players putting the ball into their own net.
39 goals were scored by substitutes, five from direct free-kicks and 27 in added time.
Other Attacking and Goalkeeping Statistics
Of the 1656 shots attempted, only 604 hit the target and with 195 finding the back of the net, goalkeepers were able to make 412 saves.

Leadership Statistics
Although there were 32 teams in the competition, 33 managers managed games with Auckland City FC parading two managers, Paul Posa and Ivan Vicelich, in the course of their three group games.
46 players were noted to be regular captains for their respective teams but a total of 70 players wore captain armband at any point of the tournament.
Plays, Fouls, and Penalties Statistics
621 corner kicks were taken. 252 players were caught in offside position and a total of 1471 fouls were called, 18 being penalties and three of those missed. Oscar Ustari of Inter Miami, Yaccine Bonou of Al Hilal and Bechir Ben Said of Esperance all saving one each.

South American clubs are noted to be tougher as the trio of River Plate, Botafogo RJ and Flamengo make up three of the top four for average fouls per game. They are joined by African duo of Wydad Casablanca and Esperance in the top five.
Discipline Statistics And Officials
A total of 246 yellow cards was received by players, with only Gustavo Gomez of Palmeiras sent off for two bookings in one game Chelsea players were shown more yellow cards than any other team with 17.
A grand total of 16 record cards was dished out as PSG and River Plate led the way with three each. Of all the players who received a red card, only Benfica’s Ander Herrera had his in the first half, and even he wasn’t in the pitch when it happened.
Seven extra red cards also went to coaches and their assistants.
A total of 29 center referees took charge of games during the course of the FIFA Club World Cup, and were aided by 58 linesmen, 24 VAR and 24 Assistant VAR referees.

The VAR was consulted on 166 occasions, with each stoppage at a average of 66 seconds. 15 penalty decisions went down to the VAR, and six was overturned while nine were upheld.
Six goals were ruled out after consultation, two players sent off following VAR review and one red card decision overturned.
