Nemanja Matic has decided he will not continue with Manchester United once his current contract runs out in the summer.
The 33 year old, who joined the club from Chelsea in the summer of 2017 took to his social media handle to announce the news in the evening of Friday.
Matic wrote: “After a great deal of thought, I have decided that this season will be my last with Manchester United. I have informed the board, the manager and the players of my decision.”
The former Benfica man has made a total of 183 appearances for Manchester United after his reunion with Jose Mourinho of which United paid £40 million to Chelsea in 2017.
“It has been a huge honour and a privilege to play for this great club. A big thank you to the fans for their unwavering support.”
“I will now give everything until the end of the season to help my teammates finish as strong as possible.” He concluded.
