It was a diverse fortune for the two Premier League heavyweights in the opening weekend as both kicked off the new campaign away from home with Liverpool picking up a point in a frustrating draw against newcomers, Fulham in London on Saturday.
City on Sunday kicked off in London against West Ham United and ended the match with a 2-0 win thanks to Erling Haaland’s brace on a ground they lost two valuable points in last season’s run in.
Pep Guardiola and his Manchester City side return home on Saturday afternoon to take on newly promoted Bournemouth, who started the season with massive statement by beating Steven Gerrard’s Aston Villa 2-0 at the Vitality Stadium.
