Liverpool’s poor form continued on Sunday evening when they were bundled out of the Emirates FA Cup by Manchester United at Old Trafford.

The Red have never made it past the round five in six tries, bowing out to West Ham United, Wolverhampton Wonderers and West Bromwich Albion in Klopp’s first three seasons in the fourth rounds. It was Wolves again in the 2018-19 season, beating Liverpool 2-1 in the third round.

It was a 2-0 loss to Chelsea last season that ended their FA Cup run, it was the first and only time they made it to the fifth round under Jurgen Klopp. This season, Manchester United are on hand to capitalize on their recent poor performance to book a place in the fifth round.

Does this mean Liverpool do not proitize the Cup ?

Even if they kept on meeting disappointment in the Cup season in and out, Liverpool don’t name a weak XI in these games but ended up losing anyways.

Last season in the league, they beat Chelsea in both leg was f their meetings in the league but were no match for Frank Lampard’s side in the Cup. Just over a week ago, the dominated Manchester United even if the game ended in a stalemate. But yesterday, they were beaten in normal time.

Looking at Jurgen Klopp’s stats in as a manager, the only season he was able to win two trophies in a season was in the 2011-12 season, when he won the BundesLiga and DFB-Pokal with Borussia Dortmund and this came to be because of Bayern Munich focusing more on the Champions League that term.

It took few games to the conclusion of the league last season before Liverpool lost a League game. Yet, they have been eliminated in the Champions League in the round of 16, FA Cup in the fifth round and unfortunately in the quarter final of the Carabao Cup.

It is the tradition of Jurgen Klopp that his side don’t go for two silverware in a season and Liverpool might need to wake up to this reality, to save themselves from the heartbreaks seasons after season.
