Timo Werner to Chelsea seems imminent as BILD SPORT confirms that The Blues are close to completing a deal of fee around €60m for the German striker.

Werner, who has been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool, has been reported to almost completing a move to Premier League rivals.

Chelsea are desperately in need of a striker after the dip in form of Tammy Abraham which has seen Oliver Giroud start for the blues in their recent games before the suspension of matches have maybe convinced the RB Leipzig man to choose them over the current European champion.

With 31 goals and 12 assists in 43 outings for Leipzig this season, Werner, will be an upgrade on all of Chelsea’s current strikers. His pace combined with his ice old finishing prowess will also prove deadly asset for London club.

The Blues have completed the signing of Hakimi Ziyech from Ajax ahead of next season and adding Werner to that will make the Frank Lampard’s side impeccable next season.

The German has been in direct talks with Frank Lampard and has agreed to sign a five years contract with The Blues in the coming days.

Werner made no secret of his desires to join Liverpool back in April but the Merseyside club cooled off their interest due to financial difficulties amidst the Coronavirus pandemic.

Should Chelsea be able to get done the deal to bring Werner to the Stamford Bridge, he will be expected to slot into the starting lineup with ease as the club’s current strike powers fall short of the 24year old.

The Blues are also believed to be courting Leicester City left-back Ben Chilwell as Frank Lampard look to lineup up his choice of players next season after their transfer ban was lifted for this summer transfer.
