Magical Alex Iwobi surpasses Kanu Nwankwo as he becomes the Nigerian with the most assists in Premier League history with his 30th in Fulham’s win over Newcastle United on Saturday.
The 28-year-old setup fellow Hale End graduate Emile Smith Rowe to double Marco Silva side’s lead midway through the first-half en route to securing a massive 3-1 win in Craven Cottage.
It was Iwobi’s second goal involvement in five league games this season after previously scoring their winner in the 2-1 success against Leicester City in gamweek 2.

Alex Iwobi registered his 30th assists in the Premier League and in the process overtakes Kanu Nwankwo, who had 29 during his time in the competition.
Sixteen of Iwobi’s assists came for Arsenal, whom Kanu Nwankwo also played for in his days. 11 others were for Everton, where he spent four seasons following his departure from Arsenal in 2019. He now has three for Fulham, taking him ahead of the Nigerian legend.
Yakubu Aiyegbeni, 26, Kelechi Iheanacho, 25 and Shola Ameobi, 20 complete the top five list of Nigerians with most assists in Premier League history.
