Chelsea and Manchester United will compete for the signature of Leicester City defender, Wesley Fofana.
The French defender has impressed since joining Leicester City in 2020 even though he spent the most of the last season on the sideline having sustained a heavy injury in a preseason game against Villarreal.
The 21-year-old joined Leicester City from French side Saint Etienne for £36.5 million and the club will now demand more than double from interested clubs this summer.
Even though a player like Fofana is difficult to replace, Leicester will be open to selling since they have players to fill the position at the club, having played most of last season without him.
Albeit their defense was shambles without the France U21 star, his £80 million valuation will be too enticing to reject should prospective buyers be willing to match.
Manchester United have in recent time signed an £80 million defender from Leicester City in their current captain, Harry Maguire but will hope Wesley Fofana will turn out to be a better deal should they beat Chelsea to his signature.
Chelsea appears to be a club more desperate if they indeed priotize Fofana this summer since they have a lot of players departing in that department of the field.
Chelsea have also experience good business with Leicester City with the signature of N’Golo Kanté and Ben Chilwell, while the Danny Drinkwater deal did not go as expected.
Fofana will be interested in moving to a bigger side and it will be interesting to see where he chooses though Chelsea have a predictable edge at things stand.
