Gareth Bale won and dispatched a late penalty to restore parity for Wales as they mark their return to the global tournament after 64 years of absence with a 1-1 draw against the USA.
The USA, managed by coach, Gregg Berhalter dominated proceedings and grabbed a well deserved lead six minutes after the half hour mark as Timothy Weah finishes expertly, following a delicious pass from Christian Pulisic.
The teams went into the half time break with the Americans in front. Wales assumed dominant as they pushed all out for a leveler and Ben Davies forced Matt Turner into making a big save with a header just moments after the hour mark.
Wales will get their goal, their first in the competition since 1958 following an awful sliding tackle on Bale by Walker Zimmerman. The Los Angeles winger stepped up to convert and level matters with eight minutes of normal time to play.
Both sides pressured for a winner but it was obvious there is not much left in the tank as it ended all square.
On a point each, both will be looking to get a result against Iran and score as many goals as they can as it might come down to goal difference to determine who goes into the next round, if England prove to be as strong as they are predicted.
