Mohamed Salah makes it six goals in his last six games against Manchester City with his 103rd strikes in the Premier league to move one within Didier Drogba as the all-time African top scorer in the English top-flight.
The Egyptian, who returned to the Premier league in the summer of 2017 after a first unsuccessful spell with London club Chelsea between 2014 and 2016 where he made just 13 appearances in the league and scoring twice.
The winger has been one of the best around since marking a return to England, helping Liverpool to their first League title in 30 years, and also winning them their sixth Champions league title.
With his sensational individual goal against Manchester City taking his tally in the league to six this season, he is now one away from equalling the record for most Premier league goals by an African player currently hold by Chelsea legend, Didier Drogba.
The Ivorian scored 104 Premier league goals in his two stint with Chelsea, racking up this number in 254 games, adding 64 assists.
Salah 29, on the other hand has reached his 103rd goal in his 165th premier league appearance, making him in a very favourable position to reach and surpass Drogba’s milestone in far less appearances.
The Egyptian has also won the Premier league golden boot as many times Drogba had won it, twice, and also picked up the Player of the Season and the PFA Awards, which the Ivorian could not in his time.
Salah’s time at Liverpoool has been the club return to her former glorious days and have since become contenders for titles season in and out. He is the most significant player in turning things around at the club.
He returns to league action with Liverpoool after the internationals break and that record will be in sight when The Reds travel to Vicarage Road to take on Watford in continuation of the Premier league season.
