Pedri blow for Barcelona as midfielder set to spend time on the sideline

Barcelona have confirmed that Spanish Midfielder, Pedri has some discomfort in the hamstring of his left thigh and are waiting for the results of the tests in order to know the extent of which the player will be out.

The 19 year old was substituted at half time in Barcelona’s 3-2 home loss to Frankfurt, which ended their 15 games unbeaten run as well as their journey in the Europa league this season.
Pedri, who missed 19 games at the start of the season between September and January due to hamstring injury could have now played his final game of the season for the club.
Reports suggest he will be out for up to six to eight weeks. Although nothing is official as at the time, he is nonetheless expected to miss a better part of the remainder of the season if at all he will still play a part.
Pedri’s return from injury in January aided Barcelona’s resurgence after the poor start to the season. His contributions has been important for Barcelona and the 2021 golden boy winner has notched in three La Liga goals this term, including one further assist.
The former Las Palmas teenager has also been handful in their Europa League run, scoring a crucial equaliser away to Galatasaray in the round of 16 first leg.
The player will be gutted to be out of action for long and Barcelona will also miss their maestro, who is fast becoming a high-profile player at a young age of 19.
