Three minutes later they are back on level terms on controversial fashion. Tobi Adekoya again, this time getting the goal. He was offfside when he received the ball but the referee decided to play on. Under pressure, he managed to beat his marker and get his shot away and into the back of the net to make it 1-1.
Team Staylite then dominated the game and fashioned a host of chances to regain the lead but could not find the finishing touches. … skied a shot from in the box while Olajide forced a good save from the goalkeeper.
Substitute Azeez Gbebe tried a shot from long range but off target as the game neared conclusion. Team Staylite will have the last laugh as striker scored what proved to be the winner two minutes from time after being sent through on goal by Fakayode.
Team Freshers push men forward in search of a for a late equaliser but it was not meant to be as the Team Staylite held on to win 2-1.
A disappointing result for the team Fresher but a lot more positives to take from the game, being the first time the group have played together while for the Staylites, a below par performance but the result is much of relief.
