France are through into the last eight of the FIFA World Cup thanks to goals from Oliver Giroud and Kylian Mbappé, which ensured a 3-1 victory over Robert Lewandowski’s Poland.

The defending champions take a first half lead one minute before the end of normal time as Olivier Giroud makes history by overtaking Theirry Henry and becomes France’s all-time international leading Goalscorer.
The Milan striker gets on the end of a Kylian Mbappé through pass and fire past Wojciech Szczesny for his 52nd international goal, as well as his third in the ongoing FIFA World Cup tournament.
Kylian Mbappé gets his goal in the 74th minute after France caught their opponent on the break. Giroud released Ousmane Dembele, who moved the ball upfield before eventually playing in Mbappé, who fired home for his fourth of the tournament.
Mbappé put the result beyond doubt in the first minute of added time after receiving a pass from Marcus Thuram in the area, the PSG man turned and unleashed a beauty into the far corner, leaving Szczesny no chance.
Robert Lewandowski grabbed a consolation from the spot late on after Dayot Upamecano was condemned for a hand ball following a Grosicky cross.
France win 3-1 and await their quarter final opponent, which will be the winner of tonight’s meeting between England and Senegal.
