Jude Bellingham and Bryan Mbeumo headline the list of the best players in Europe’s top five leagues during the weekend.
Another thrilling weekend in Europe with the Clasico on show in Spain while some big fixtures also took center stage elsewhere in the top five leagues, one of which was the meeting between Aston Villa and Manchester City.
Amid the routine wins, classic showings, and shocking results, many individuals stood out, some of whom we have selected as the best players in their respective leagues.
From Bryan Mbeumo’s hot streak against Brighton to Jude Bellingham’s masterclass in the Clasico, here are the stars of the weekend, each in the Premier League, LaLiga, Serie A, Bundesliga, and Ligue 1.
Players of the weekend in top five leagues
Premier League: Bryan Mbeumo of Manchester United
Bryan Mbeumo starred with a brace for Manchester United as they continue to find their feet in the Premier League this season with a 4-2 win over Brighton, one that saw them win three consecutive league games since February 2024.

Brighton had won all of their previous three visits to Old Trafford before Saturday and were looking to continue their impressive run, but Ruben Amorim’s charge showed them they are a new team, with a different character.
Mbeumo made it 3-0 in the second half after goals from Matheus Cunha and Casemiro had given them a 2-0 lead before the interval, but the visitors scored the next two goals to set up a nervy finish to the game.
Mbeumo, who had been involved in six goals in his previous five games against the Seagulls, scored again to complete his brace and calm the Old Trafford as United sealed a 4-2 victory that takes them sixth in the standings.
The Cameroonian has been a great signing for Manchester United, and his performance during the weekend was unmatched by any other player in the Premier League, hence his nomination as the best.
LaLiga: Jude Bellingham of Real Madrid
Jude Bellingham inspired Real Madrid to a 2-1 victory over Barcelona in the Clasico on Sunday evening, ending a run of four consecutive defeats against their fiercest rival, who completely dominated them last season.

The English midfielder, recently returned from injury, scored his first goal of the season in the 1-0 win over Juventus in the Champions League during the weekend, and headed into the weekend with the belief to conquer.
Jude Bellingham assisted Kylian Mbappé with an excellent through ball to break the deadlock and restore their lead two minutes before the interval after Fermin Lopez had fired the visitors level five minutes earlier.
The midfielder went on to win a penalty off Eric Garcia in the second half, which was not converted by Kylian MbappĂ©. His weekend wasn’t just special, it was the best from any player in the Spanish top-flight in the Matchday.
Serie A: Arthur Atta of Udinese
The French Midfielder continues his impressive start to the season for Udinese with two assists in their 3-2 victory over Lecce on Saturday afternoon, taking them level on points with seventh-place Atalanta.

Arthur Atta set up Jesper Karlstrom for the opener in the 16th minute with a pass from the left wing, which was excellently controlled by the Swedish midfielder before beating the goalkeeper to the near post for his first goal of the season.
Atta was at his creative best six minutes after the half hour, beating a couple of challenges to get out of a difficult situation before sending a cross into the box for Davies to head home for 2-0.
Udinese went on to win the match 3-2, and it was the form of Arthur Atta that inspired them to the win, as he has consistently done so far this season. This time, he emerged as our best Serie A player of the weekend.
Bundesliga: Yan Diomande of RB Leipzig
RB Leipzig recorded their biggest away win in top-flight history in a 6-0 thumping of Augsburg on Saturday afternoon, and youngster Yan Diomande was at the heart of everything good for the Red Bull club.

The 18-year-old opened his Bundesliga account 10 minutes into the contest, playing a one-two with Romulo Cruz before beating the goalkeeper in a tight angle. He unselfishly set up Nusa for the third with a no-look pass at the end of the first quarter.
The Ivorian then assisted Christopher Baumgartner for 4-0 later in the half as Leipzig continued the wreck havoc on their host on their way to win 6-0 after two more second-half goals.
Yan Diomande, who now has four goal contributions in five Leipzig starts will hope that this is the start of what will be a good spell in Germany. For Matchday 8, he is our brightest Bundesliga star.
Ligue 1: Felix Correia of Lille
Portuguese winger Felix Correia finally got his name on the scoresheet for the first time as a Lille player following his move from Gil Vicente in the summer.

Although the 24-year-old had registered three assists in 11 games, his form has been disappointing in front of goal, but that changed after bagging a brace in the 6-1 victory over Metz on Sunday.
Felix Correia scored Lille’s second and third, then assisted the fifth before departing the pitch to an ovation from the home crowd, after a showing that lifted the club to fifth place in the Ligue 1, which also earned him our recognition as the best of the weekend in the French topflight.
