Gerrard, who is also regarded as one of the best Midfielders of his time never got the chance to win the Premier League title having spent almost all his career as a professional with Merseyside club, Liverpool.

In an interview with Gary Neville, Gerrard was asked who is the best player ever in the Premier League ?

The current Villa boss, who won the Champions League with Liverpool in 2005 was not hesitant to name former Arsenal captain Thierry Henry, who was in England between 1999 and 2007 before returning for a short spell in the winter of 2012.

Henry won two Premier League titles with Arsenal in the 2001-02 season and the 2003-04 Invincibles while also finishing runner up on multiple occasions in the era of Arsenal’s dominance in the league.

The former Monaco teenager made a total of 258 Premier League appearances for Arsenal in his two spells, scoring 175 times and registering 83 assists.

The former Juventus and Barcelona forward was top scorer of the division in four different seasons and also recorded the most assists in one season, meaning he was arguably the best performer in the league in his eight seasons with the Gunners.

Moreso, he appeared in the PFA Team of the season on six occasions while also amassing a host of individual awards, including the PFA Player of the year twice and in two of his top scoring season, he was able to win the European golden shoe.

Away from the league, Henry also enjoyed success with Barcelona, where he won his only Champions League title in 2006, three years after falling in the final of the competition to the same club with Arsenal.

With France, Henry won all the possible trophies like the World Cup in 1998, the European Championship in 2000 and the FIFA Confederation Cup in 2003.

Henry also made Balon d’Or podium twice, finishing second behind Paved Nedved in 2003 and third in 2006.

Without a doubt Henry is one of the greatest ever to grace the game and Gerrard has now acknowledged him as the greatest to grace the Premier League.
