Dean Huijsen could be set to leave AFC Bournemouth just one season after joining from Juventus, as interest from Europe’s elite clubs continues to grow.

The 20-year-old Spanish centre-back has been a revelation in the Premier League this season, making a strong case against Juventus’ decision to overlook his potential in Italy.

Which Clubs Want to Sign Dean Huijsen?

Real Madrid, Liverpool, Chelsea, and Arsenal are all actively exploring the possibility of prising Dean Huijsen away from the Vitality Stadium in the upcoming transfer window, raising questions over Bournemouth’s apparent reluctance to hold on to their star.

Huijsen is particularly keen on a move to Real Madrid. The young defender has been vocal about his desire to return to Spain and join the Spanish giants, who themselves are in urgent need of reinforcements at centre-back.

Huijsen is under contract until the summer of 2030, having signed a six-year deal in 2024. Yet, we seek to answer the pressing question: why are Bournemouth offering no resistance to his potential departure this summer?

Why Bournemouth Will Let Dean Huijsen Leave

Dean Huijsen may have five years remaining on his Bournemouth contract by the summer, but a release clause in the deal allows him to leave just one year into his stay—if a club activates the £50 million buyout.

With the clause set to become active this summer, any suitor willing to meet the fee would only need to reach an agreement with the Dutch-born defender and his representatives to secure his signature.

The agreement also stipulates that the £50 million release clause can be paid in three instalments, offering financial flexibility to potential buyers looking to secure Huijsen while still strengthening other areas of their squad.

A departure from the Vitality Stadium this summer is looking increasingly inevitable. Bournemouth are expected to offer no resistance and instead focus on a 300 percent profit on the €15 million they paid Juventus for his signature less than a year ago.
