The Pole has now set a new record for most consecutive wins in the 21st century with her 36th, overtaking Venus Williams’ previous record of 35.
The great Serena Williams is in third with 34.
Swiatek faces Lesley Pattinama Kerkhove of The Netherlands, who eliminated Sonay Kartal of The Great Britain, in the second round.
SOFT WORK FOR BADOSA IN ROUND ONE
Paula Badosa eases into the second round in Wimbledon following a 6-2, 6-1 straight set win over Louisa Chirico of the US and faces Irina Bara in the next round.
Unseeded Irina Bara defeated Chloé Paquet 6-2, 6-4 to set up the encounter with the Spanish star.
TOUGH START FOR GAUFF
Roland Garros beaten finalist, Coco Gauff needed a tiebreaker to seal a lucky win over Elena-Gabriela Ruse of Romania.
The American take the win, despite losing the first set and it finished 2-6, 6-3, 7-5.
Up next for Gauff is another Romanian, Mihaela Buzarnescu who sealed qualification with a 6-4, 6-2 straight set win over Germany qualifier, Nastaja Mariana Schunk.
CAMILA GIORGI FELL TO FRECH
Unseeded Pole, Magdalena Frech upsets No.21 Camila Giorgi in the first round in a 7-5, 6-1 straight set win on court 4.
Ana Karolina Schimeidlova awaits in the second round, the Slovakian see off Rebecca Peterson in three sets to seal progress.
PETRA KVITOVA COMES FROM BEHIND
Petra Kvitova avoided a shocker as she comes from behind to beat unseeded Italian, Jasmine Paolini 2-6, 6-4, 6-2.
She meets Ana Bogdan in the next round. Bogdan defeated Dayana Yastremska of Romania, 6-2, 6-2 to reach the second round.
SHELBY SENT PACKING
Roger Shelby has been bundled out of the Wimbledon in the first round by Petra Martic of Croatia, in a 6-2, 7-6 straight set scoreline on court 9.
Martic’s opponent in the next round will be Slovakian Kristina Kucova, who saw off Brazilian Laura Pigossi 7-5, 6-0 to seal qualification.
SLOANE STEPHENS STUMBLES
Qinwen Zheng ended Sloane Stephens Wimbledon campaign in the first round with a 7-6, 7-5 straight sets win on court 15.
Zheng awaits the results of day three to learn who she faces in the second round.
CATHERINE HARRISON DEFIES THE ODDS
American Qualifier, Catherine Harrison continues to dream after sealing progress into the second round with a 6-4, 6-1 straight sets win over Arantxa Rus of the Netherlands.
Alja Tomljanović, who defeated a much tougher opponent in Jail Teichmann in straight sets (6-2, 6-3), awaits Harrison in the second round.

UNLUCKY DIMITROV FORCED TO RETIRE
Grigor Dimitrov’s Wimbledon campaign in 2022 will be one to forget after the grass enthusiast was forced to retire due to an injury against Steve Johnson.
American, Johnson advances and will face Ryan Penitson in the second round.
Penitson secured qualification after beating Henri Laaksonen in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3, 6-2.
THE STREAK CONTINUES FOR NADAL
The Men Single record Grand Slam winner makes it 15 straight Grand Slam wins following a 6-4 6-3 3-6 6-4 four sets win over Francisco Cerundolo in Wimbledon.
It’s the first time in 3 years he’s needed more than 3h30 to seal a win.
He faces Ricardas Berantis in the second round after the Lithuanian beat Sam Querrey of the US in straight set.
GOFFIN MATCHES ON
David Goffin made a smart start in Wimbledon with a 6-2, 6-2, 7-6 straight sets win over Radu Albot of Moldova.
Seeded Argentina le, Sebastian Baez awaits in the next round following the 21 year old’s straight sets win over Japanese’ Taro Daniel, 6-4, 6-4, 7-5.
TOUGH START FOR RICHARD GASQUET
French veteran Richard Gasquet avoided a disastrous end to his match against another veteran, Portuguese’ Joao Sousa.
Former Wimbledon semi finalist in 2007 and 2015, Gasquet took the first two sets before he allowed his opponent win the next two.
However, Gasquet win the decisive set to seal a 7-6, 6-2, 4-6, 4-6, 6-3 win and book a ticket to the second round, where MacKenzie McDonald of the US lies in wait.
TSITSIPAS CRUISES ON
Stefanos Tsitsipas progressed into the second round with a 7-6, 6-3, 5-7, 6-4 win over Swiss-American qualifier, Alexander Ritschard on court 1.

FELIX AUGER-ALIASSIME HUMBLED
In four sets, which produced three tiebreakers, Maxime Cressy of the US shocked top seed, Felix Auger-Aliassime in the first round.
Cressy progressed despite his Canadian opponent taking the first set as it finished, 6-7, 6-4, 7-5, 7-6 and now American Qualifier, Jack Sock is up next in the second round.
HOLGER RUNE RAN OUT OF STEAM
Unseeded American, Marcos Giron won all three sets to dump out Holger Rune from the Championship.
6-3, 7-5, 6-4 it finished to the 28 year old, who will now face Alex Molcan in the second round.
