Arsenal has found a breakthrough in their pursuit of Bologna left-back Aaron Hickey with personal terms agreed with the sensational player.
The club has also been reported to have agreed a fee in the region of £21million with the Italian club and the CEO is now in London to finalize a deal for Hickey.
The highly rated 19 year old has made 34 appearances for Bologna in his second season in the Serie A, helping them to a mid table position with great performances at both ends of the pitch.
The Gunners want Hickey as back up for his countryman, Kieran Tierney, who is susceptible to injuries. Nuno Tavares was brought in to do the job but the Portuguese has disappointed in his debut season, prompting Arsenal to look elsewhere.
Arsenal, who bought Takehiro Tomiyasu from Bologna on the deadline day last summer have seemingly now beaten Napoli to secure the services of the youngster.
