Arsenal’s french defender, William Saliba has vowed to stay and fight for his place at the club after a successful season long loan spell at Marseille.
The 21-year-old defender enjoyed a successful spell with the French club and a lot of speculations has ensued, with many reports suggesting he wants to stay in Marseille to play Champions League football.
Arsenal boss, Mikel Arteta has respond to the reports, stating Saliba is an Arsenal player and the loan agreement is just for a season, which has been concluded and Saliba will return to the Emirates this summer.
The stressed that the loan was to afford him play time, given Arsenal had no European commitments last season and the former Saint Etienne teenager might not get to play much due to the summer arrival of Ben White from Brighton.
William Saliba tells Telefoot on his future: “I belong to Arsenal, I still have two years left. I will be back with Arsenal.”
“I have played zero matches and I still want to show them that I can play for these fans and this great club. It doesn’t only depend on me but leaving now would be a real shame.” he added.
Arsenal fans will be anticipating Saliba next season after the player showed his class in the last season for Marseille, becoming one of the top rankef centre back in Europe top five Leagues.
