Gameweek 5 of the Premier League Fantasy League is here. It was placed with some surprises last week with Ipswich’s impressive goalless draw against Brighton and Liverpool losing to Nottingham at Anfield. It was not a good day for FPL managers with Liverpool’s players.
This week a lot of players are in doubt and this will put managers at a crossroads about who to transfer in or out. Let’s take a look at some players in doubt and the possible alternatives.
Alexander Isak:- The striker was withdrawn at half time following an eye complaint in a 2-1 win over Wolverhampton last week and he’s a doubt this week. Eddie Howe revealed he will make a late decision on Alexander Isak’s availability to face Fulham ahead of Saturday’s Premier League trip to Craven Cottage (kick-off 3pm BST).
On Isak’s availability:“The ball grazed his eye and we felt, at that time, that was the main reason for him coming off the pitch then we found he had a knock on his foot so he’s got a combination of the two.”We will find out more today and make a decision on him.”
João Pedro:- He was not available in the seagulls draw against Ipswich and was absent in their carabao cup match, he didn’t even make the bench.
Fabian Hurzeler said in his press conference, “He will train with the team on Friday and then we have to see how it’s going – if he can train fully, if he can do all the movements. We won’t take any risk, but he will be part of the training.”
He will probably not be back this weekend because it’s obvious he won’t be rushed.
Yoane Wissa:- Brentford head coach has confirmed he will be out for a couple of months after suffering an ankle injury against Manchester City last weekend.
With all this injuries and uncertainty, who is the best forward to pair with Haaland upfront? If you own Isak it will be quite easy to switch to Watkins who seems to have picked his form with two goals in gameweek 4.
Dominic Solanke is a good fit too with a very good run of fixtures going forward and a key difference I’ll like to consider is Ipswich Liam Delap he has had 5 shots so far and he was unlucky to have registered a goal against Brighton last week.
Welbeck will be a good replacement for his teammate Pedro and his form so far this season is quite impressive.

If you have both Haaland and Salah I’ll suggest you give the armband to Salah considering his impressive run against Bournemouth and the fact that Haaland is going against Arsenal with one of the best defenses in the league. Another alternative will be Watkins.
