Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has finally confirmed that defender, Andreas Christensen will no longer continue with the club after the end of the current campaign.
Reports confirmed the Danish defender has signed a contract with Spanish club Barcelona and will join Xavi’s team after the end of the season.
When asked about the defender, who was a product of the Chelsea Academy, the German said: “We are losing him.”
Chelsea are already losing Antonio Rüdiger with the player already signing a five year contract with Real Madrid, as his current contract with The Blues ends this summer.
Soon to be Barcelona player, Christensen was reported to have asked not to be selected for the FA Cup final loss to Liverpool despite not being injured, which fueled reports he has maybe played his last game for the club.
Chelsea will play host to Leicester City on Thursday and on the final day of the Premier League season, they entertain relegated Watford at the Stamford Bridge.
A win on Thursdays will be enough to seal qualification for the Champions League next season for Thomas Tuchel’s side, who has suffered disappoinment in two domestic cup finals this season.
