Brazil legend, Rivaldo urges Arsenal technical director, Edu Gasper to pursue the signing of Everton forward Richarlison as the player seeks to move out of that Goodison Park this summer.
Richarlison has confirmed his intention to leave Everton this summer as he looks to take the next step in his career after helping the club escape relegation last season.
The 25-year-old was a standout star yet again for the Merseyside club, finishing the league campaign with more goals and assists than any other player at the club.
Richarlison has impressed the crowd at the club since joining for around £40 million from Watford in 2018 and after 152 appearances that has produced 53 goals and 14 assists across all competitions, the former Fluminese teenager seeks a move to a more elite club.
Barcelona legend, Rivaldo said to Betfair: “Arsenal look a good option for Richarlison. Edu is technical director at Arsenal and I think could be crucial in a potential move.”
“Joining a club that fights near the top of the league is important for Richarlison after a tough season with Everton, in which he was crucial to saving the club from relegation.”
“If he gets a big move, he’ll have a better chance of becoming a first choice forward for Brazil at the World Cup in Qatar.” he concluded.
Arsenal’s technical director, Edu had worked with Brazil coach Tite until 2019 and the ex-Arsenal midfielder knows Richarlison very well from the Brazilian national team.
Rivaldo believes Arsenal is right for Richarlison and Edu will be vital should the Gunners intensify move for the forward.
