Reasons why Arsenal may win the Premier League title in 2025-26
Could it be their turn? Arsenal isn’t getting the favourite shouts like they had at the start of last season, and maybe that is just what they need to finally pull off what has always eluded them.
The Gunners head into the first prime year of their project after the completion of their five-year rebuild process led by Mikel Arteta and Edu Gaspar, the latter having left the club earlier in the year and now replaced by Andrea Berta.
Berta, in his first window at the club, appears to be icing the cake on the process by signing striker Viktor Gyökeres, who is one of the best in the world at what he does, after scoring an astonishing 97 goals in two seasons for Sporting CP.
The arrival of Martin Ødegaard, despite interest from Liverpool, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, also helped prevent a disaster that could have been, following the exit of star midfielder Thomas Partey, who left as a free agent at the end of June.
The summer business was not without its drama, but it’s safe to say Arteta and Edu have done the bigger job — making the club a dream destination for players both outside and inside.
However, some of their transfer decisions have been questionable, as Arsenal now have a host of deadwood who could neither fetch good money in the transfer window nor attract good clubs.

The impact makes the Londoners the second-biggest net spenders after Manchester United, with only a small sum earned from outgoings — although that could improve before the window shuts, or get even worse if they make further signings.
On the bright side, every player they approach wants to come, and even the deals that got complicated due to finances were later re-presented to them, only for them to turn them down and focus on what was considered priority.
Nevertheless, kudos to the Italian, who ensured the deals got over the line. From the Swedish striker to Martin Zubimendi, Cristhian Mosquera, Christian Nørgaard and Noni Madueke, the recruitment process has been smooth, and major signings arrived in time for preseason.
Ahead of the kick-off of a new season where the competition is expected to be more intense than ever, here are five reasons why Arsenal may win the Premier League title in 2025-26.
Five Reasons Why Arsenal May Win The Premier League Title in 2025-26
1. One of the Best In Position To Win
Arsenal is one of the best assembled teams heading into the new Premier League season. Last season, Manchester City was better even though they proved otherwise during the course of the campaign, while Liverpool emerged from the shadows to dominate.
Since the start of the 2022-23 season, only Manchester City has been more consistent than Arsenal, and only they have earned four more points than Arsenal’s 247 in that period.

While the Gunners’ 74 points from last season is their lowest in that period, the unfortunate narrative around their campaign played a huge part in the misfortune. However, this summer, they’ve made better preparations to navigate should there be a déjà vu.
2. Invincibles Narratives
When Arsenal won the league without losing a game to achieve the historic Invincibles in 2003-04, they did so on the back of three consecutive second-place finishes—the same run Mikel Arteta’s charge has recently achieved.
The last two seasons have seen them come very close to winning the league title, only to lose out due to minor details.

The goal this season will be to do just that as Mikel Arteta enters his sixth full season, which will be the first year after the end of their five-year rebuild project.
They will be desperate to win it. But desperation alone is not enough; if any team has what it takes to win it, so does Arsenal.
3. Run Against Chelsea
Last season, Mikel Arteta became the first Arsenal manager to beat Chelsea in three consecutive games at the Emirates Stadium since Arsène Wenger, 22 years ago in 2003.

What happened next?
The Arsenal of Arsène Wenger went all the way to claim the league title the following year, now giving this Arsenal team the chance to replicate the success after tying the winning record last season.
4. Significantly Addressed Weaknesses
Arsenal have been active in the transfer window and have made good signings, addressing and strengthening all positions across the pitch.
The arrival of players like Martin Zubimendi and Viktor Gyökeres not only gives them what was lacking but also represents two of the best players in the world in their respective positions.

Kepa Arrizabalaga, Noni Madueke, Christian Nørgaard, and Cristhian Mosquera have all been added to provide both competition and cover, and the squad now boasts at least two above-average players in each position, with three or more competing for places.
Their summer business has been impressive, even though they may need to improve certain areas, which might not be a priority if there are no outgoing senior figures before the end of the window.
Arsenal has one of the best squads among Premier League teams, and if one can be singled out as the best, there’s no one more suited than the North Londoners.
5. Top Departures From Rival Clubs
Liverpool is easily Arsenal’s biggest threat to the league title, and the Reds have seen the departure of players like Trent Alexander-Arnold and Luis Diaz, both of whom contributed significantly to their league win last season.
Although they have invested significantly during the summer transfer window and are also in the process of adding Alexander Isak to the ranks, players tend to struggle a bit in their first season. It would be highly unlikely for Liverpool not to be a victim of this, as they are making up to five changes to the starting XI.
The impeccable form of Mohamed Salah was also priceless in their league triumph, one that would be very difficult to replicate, even for the Egyptian.
They’re transitioning from reliance on fullbacks for creativity to midfielders, with Florian Wirtz coming into the club in a British record move. As good as that is, it is in its early stages and a complication, and Arsenal will be expected to pounce.
Manchester City is the other major challenger and just like Liverpool, the Etihad landlords have made too many changes, with many of their top players now aged or prone to injuries.

Rayan Cherki and Tijjani Reijnders will be set for big roles in the team, but the two newcomers will need time to settle down in a new environment that has underperformed in the last 10 months or so.
Enzo Maresca’s charge did not have many significant departures aside from the imminent Nicolas Jackson exit, but with the current situation of all the teams, including the recent injury to their best center-back Levi Colwill, Arsenal may be the team in position to go all the way.
What are your thoughts. Can Arsenal go all the way to the title this year?
