Tottenham Hotspur manager Thomas Frank has landed in hot waters in the wake of the clubs loss at Bournemouth, and surprisingly, not because of the defeat but a picture of him drinking with an Arsenal branded cup ahead of kickoff.
Things are not getting any easy for the Danish manager following his move to North London in the summer with Tottenham setting a new club record for most home defeat in a single calendar year at the end of 2025 one of the many lows he has had to condone with on the job.
The club has had an underwhelming first season so far under his management, especially in the Premier League, where they have struggled to win games and have only won nine points out of a possible 30, and only relegation threatened West Ham and Wolves have fewer.
Their season has so far had more downs than the otherwise. A win against Crystal Palace saw them move up a tight table, but after their failure to win their last three games, they return to the bottom half of the standings.
The new year hasn’t brought much joy as well, with two draws and one loss in three games already have fans calling for his sack, with some even booing the players and the drama that followed after their loss at the Vitality stadium.

Despite taking an early lead through Mathys Tel, the Europa League winner fail to manage the game well, and allowed two goals in to their one more, before outgoing Antoine Semenyo grabbed a late winner for his parting gift to the Cherries.
Bournemouth had no win in their previous 11 games before the meeting with Spurs, and after falling to what was their eighth league loss of the campaign, Tottenham now have just two wins in their last 12 league games.
The pressure on Thomas Frank is intense, and he didn’t get any luck as regards the recent event, which took place ahead of kickoff at the Vitality stadium on Wednesday evening.
Thomas Frank pictured drinking with Arsenal Cup
The appointment of Thomas Frank wasn’t unanimously accepted by Tottenham Hotspur faithfuls, especially because of his love for their North London rivals Arsenal.
More concerns about his commitment to the club was raised when he was pictured drinking with an Arsenal branded cup and wearing smiles, although he later claimed he was unaware that the cup is Arsenal branded.

Tottenham have opened an investigation into the matter, keen to know why the cup ended up on the hands of their manager at a time when nothing seems to be going right at the club.
Arsenal played Bournemouth on Saturday evening and might have left the cup behind, but how come, of all the people around, it ended in the hands of their manager, whose Arsenal fanhood is no secret.
Thomas Frank’s team have followed the loss at Bournemouth with a 2-1 home defeat to Aston Villa on Saturday, bringing a premature end to their Emirates FA Cup journey in their first game.
