Arsenal striker, Alexander Lacazette has admitted he was not a fan of his former strike partner Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang before the Gabon international moved to Arsenal from Borussia Dortmund in January, 2018.
Alexander Lacazette says he did not like Aubameyang before they became pals at Arsenal.
Frenchman Lacazette, who had earlier joined the Gunners from Olympic Lyon in the summer of 2017 confessed that he was not a fan of the current Barcelona striker due to his Instagram use.
Speaking in a recent interview, Lacazette said: “I had some misconceptions about him. “Before he arrived, I didn’t like him. To be honest, I’m not mates with the Aubameyang you see on Instagram. I’m mates with Pierre-Emerick. People don’t know Pierre-Emerick. They know Aubameyang.”
Aubameyang, who has quite the reputation on Instagram and has accumulated a staggering 12.2million followers. But if Lacazette’s comments are anything to go by, his personality away from the camera is very different.
The two played together at Arsenal for four years and enjoyed the FA Cup success in 2020 while they also lost in the final of the 2019 Europa League to Chelsea in Baku.
Like Aubameyang, Alexander Lacazette is most likely to leave Arsenal in the summer and has also revealed his intentions to play in the champions league, stating he is in talks with other clubs as his current Arsenal contract expires in the summer.
