New development on Thursdays afternoon has it that the UK government have now imposed assets freezes on seven Russian businessman, including that of the Chelsea owner.
The resultant means that Chelsea Football club will be affected by the sanctions imposed on their billionaire owner by the UK government as he has been unable to sell the club in time, and he will not be able to sell as long as the sanctions still stand.
Here are the ways the sanctions will affect and not affect the club:
As a result of the sanctions, Chelsea Football club cab still continue to play their matches without having to worry about the sanctions as permitted by the UK government.
They will also be eligible to receive broadcast money from the English FA, which is their right from their broadcast partners.
Fans who are season ticket holders will be able to attend games at the Stamford Bridge stadium or away from home but that is all there is to it.
Chelsea club’s store is closed for business.
However, the sanction means the club will not be able to sign new players or renew contracts of their current players.
Furthermore, fans will not get access to new tickets and shop merchandise has been closed henceforth.
Moreso, Roman Abrahamovic will not be able to sell the club unless he agrees that the UK government take full control of the sale process and receive no proceedings from the sale.
